- Option A: Grand Prismatic Overlook from Fairy Falls trailhead.
- Option B: Midway Geyser Basin boardwalk if people are tired or if steam blocks the overlook view.
Hike Notes
- The full Fairy Falls hike is optional.
Skip / Keep Optional
- Skip Biscuit Basin / Mystic Falls unless the area is clearly open and the group really wants more hiking. Yellowstone currently lists temporary closures near Biscuit Basin, so this should not be a core plan.
Fri Jun 5 – Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb, Storm Point / Natural Bridge & Hayden Valley
- Drive early toward the Yellowstone Lake area.
- Visit West Thumb Geyser Basin.
- Stop at Lake Butte Overlook if weather and timing are good.
- Choose one moderate hike:
- Storm Point Trail, if open.
- Natural Bridge Trail, if Storm Point is closed or the group prefers a simpler option.
- Picnic lunch near Fishing Bridge / Lake area.
- Drive through Hayden Valley for wildlife viewing.
- If time and energy remain, add one Canyon stop such as Artist Point or Brink of Upper Falls.
Important Notes
- Storm Point is a moderate loop, but it is often closed in late spring / early summer due to bear activity, so check with Fishing Bridge Visitor Center before hiking.
- Yellowstone Lake boat tours from Bridge Bay are not expected to be available on this date because 2026 Yellowstone Lake Scenicruise operations begin June 12.
- Do not try to do West Thumb, Storm Point, Natural Bridge, boat tour, Hayden Valley, and full Canyon viewpoints all in one day.
Sat Jun 6 – Firehole Area
- If not done earlier, do Grand Prismatic Overlook.
- If not done earlier, walk the Midway Geyser Basin boardwalk.

Important 2026 Note
- Grand Teton has several 2026 construction projects, especially around the south end of the park. Moose-Wilson Road, Death Canyon Road, Taggart Lake Trail, and Mormon Row may have closures, detours, or delays, so this day should remain flexible.

- Optional short stops depending on route and energy:
